Vesterålen is an island region in the north of Norway. For two months during the winter, the sun remains below the horizon, and the skies belong to the Aurora Borealis, the moon and the stars. In the summer however, the sun does just the opposite, never setting, but remaining above the horizon - the Midnight Sun turning the night into a magical adventure.
In Vesterålen, the mountains and the sea meet in an impressive manner...
In this land of magic, we find Vesterålen Sjøhus holiday centre, a modern and cosy accommodation, centreclose to the seashore. The centre includes 7 well-equipped seaside cabins with 2 bedrooms - each with two beds - a living room with colour TV and radio, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom/toilet and shower.
The "Sjøstua" restaurant in the main building offers a variety of delicious dishes from the sea in a maritime environment. Here you can get your very own Midnight Sun Certificate (registered trade mark), and we are proud to be the only firm in the world to issue them.
There is a magnificent view of the Midnight Sun from the restaurant.
Vesterålen Sjøhus is situated 2 km north from Sortland town centre. Sortland is a small town in the heart of Vesterålen.
The famous Coastal Voyage vessels, the Hurtigruten, makes daily calls here (southbound at 1 p.m. and northbound at 3 a.m.). Sortland is a great starting point for exploring the magnificent countryside and other sights in Vesterålen.
